Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of the eternal storyline of Don Quixote in Vladimir Nabokov’s novel Glory. It is based on the textual analysis of this novel and Nabokov’s lectures on Cervantes’ book. We argue the term ‘eternal storyline’ in point of structural features and intertextual connections of Glory. The image of the main character, Martin Edelweiss, can be compared with the eternal image of Don Quixote. The novel contains Nabokov’s attitude to the prenominated eternal storyline and his own interpretation of the ‘storyline-situation’.
