Abstract

The article is devoted to an overview of various approaches to the study of the phenomenon of literary parody, which became the main topic of the medievalist colloquium held from 27 to 30 August 2024 in Clermont-Ferrand, France (“Parodic Text in the Middle Ages and the Concept of ‘Parody’ in Medieval Studies”). The article examines in historical perspective the concepts of scientists who have made the greatest contribution to the study of the theory and history of parody – M. Bakhtin, Ts. Todorov, G. Genette, U. Eco and others. The terminological diversity and heterogeneity of the points of view of these researchers on the phenomenon of “parody” are analyzed in the article in an attempt to identify both differences and similarities in them.
